Covey Homes General FAQs

  • Are pets allowed?

    Your furry friends are welcome, because Covey Homes neighborhoods are pet-friendly! We welcome up to 3 pets per home, without weight restrictions. Each pet requires a one-time, non-refundable fee and monthly pet rent (*not applicable for service / support animals). See our Neighborhood page(s) for fees per community. Residents are not permitted to keep poisonous or non-domestic animals. Acceptable species include dogs, cats, fish, and birds. Breed restrictions apply.

    The following breeds  or mixed of these breeds are restricted in our neighborhoods:

    • Pit Bull Terrier
    • Staffordshire Terrier
    • Rottweilers
    • Doberman Pinschers
    • Chows
    • German Shepherds
    • Presa Canarios
    • Akitas
    • Alaskan Malamutes
    • Wolf hybrids
  • Will I need to cut my own grass?

    Front yard lawn maintenance and general landscaping upkeep is included in your LiveMORE bundle. Your only gardening responsibility is exterior flower bed upkeep, so feel free to style your flower beds as you please. Backyard maintenance and landscape requirements vary by neighborhood. Refer to your Neighborhood Codes for more information.

  • What if I have a maintenance request?

    Maintenance requests can be submitted through our resident portal. For Emergency requests, as outlined in your Neighborhood Code, call your emergency maintenance phone number.

  • Do I change my AC filter?

    You may purchase a filter at any time and our maintenance team will install it for you at no additional cost. We recommend changing your AC filter regularly to maintain performance.

  • How do I pay my rent?

    Rent payments should be made through our resident portal online. We encourage scheduling recurring payments through ACH or Credit Card. Select neighborhoods also offer flex payment options. Contact your local leasing office for more information.

  • Is there a minimum credit score requirement to apply for a home?

    Covey Homes uses a third party screening program to review each total application, weighing multiple factors including sufficient income, a satisfactory rental history, as well as criminal background and credit checks. A clean credit history is preferred, and applicants cannot have a prior collection for past due rent. Please see our Qualifications page for more information.

  • Is street parking allowed in my community?

    Parking availability may vary by Covey Homes neighborhood. Each home has their own Code that must be followed. Contact your leasing office for more information.

  • Do I need to set up my own utilities through service providers?

    Yes, upon application approval and verification of your move-in date you will need to set up your own utility accounts and begin service. Contact the management staff for recommendations or more information on local utilities providers in your neighborhood.
